The Veiligheidsmonitor (Vm) is a biennial (in odd-numbered years) recurring population survey. The Vm describes the development of social (un)safety in the Netherlands. This is done using key figures regarding the livability of the residential neighborhood, feelings of insecurity, victimization of crime – including online crime –, the assessment of the police, prevention behavior, and disrespectful behavior and discrimination.
