Sanquin research into Covid-19 antibodies

Sanquin, in collaboration with Haagse Inkoop Samenwerking, is conducting scientific research into SARS‑CoV‑2 antibodies in blood donors. The study focuses on a representative group of healthy Dutch individuals, where blood collection and analysis take place within the framework of the Wet inzake Bloedvoorziening (Article 1, paragraph c1 and d). The objective is to obtain reliable data on the prevalence and duration of antibodies, which is of importance to public healthcare and vaccination policy. The procurement concerns a service contract in which Sanquin is responsible for the collection, processing, and analysis of blood samples, ensuring privacy and ethical standards, and reporting the results to the contracting authority. The procedure is a negotiated procedure without prior publication, whereby the selection of a suitable service provider based on expertise and experience is central.
