In the Noorderkwartier management area (North Holland above the North Sea Canal), twenty-one municipalities jointly own 647 IBAs. HHNK has managed and maintained these IBAs since their installation around 2005 based on agreements with the involved municipalities. The IBAs must now be replaced by VSTs.
