The ‘Portionering’ chain breakthrough project arises from the 'Single Use Plastics' legislation which came into force in 2024. Parties from the chain, such as food producers, the packaging industry, and catering and hospitality entrepreneurs, came together in the project “Transitie Voedingsaanbod Buitenshuis Consumptie”. In this ‘Moonshot’ project, chain parties searched for solutions and better alternatives to plastic single-portion packaging for sauces, spreads, dairy, and sweet toppings.
