Quay reinforcement Peursumsche Vliet, part of the Alblasserwaard & Vijfheerenlanden programme, concerns the reinforcement of 1,880 m of the Peursumsekade including the widening of the cycle path to 3.0 m of asphalt. The project, to be completed by 31-12-2027, includes clearing works, earthworks and dredging, installation of culverts, sheet piling, revetments, paving, planting and seeding, and administrative preparation.

The Alblasserwaard and Vijfheerenlanden (A5H) programme includes the reinforcement of several regional flood defences. These works are divided into two phases. First, the embankments located primarily in rural areas of the excavated drainage channels in the Alblasserwaard and the drainage embankments of the Zouweboezem in the Vijfheerenlanden will be addressed (tranche 1). Subsequently, in tranche 2, the approach to predominantly built-up embankments along the old peat streams, the Alblas and the Giessen, will commence.
