We are celebrating New Year's Eve in Utrecht differently starting from 2024. We are choosing the environment, animals, the vulnerable neighbor, and fewer accidents. Together, we are creating new traditions for a New Year's Eve without fireworks. Therefore, from 2024, Utrecht will no longer choose fireworks, but will choose the environment, animals, the vulnerable neighbor, and fewer accidents. And, of course, we choose togetherness. As part of this new tradition, on 31 December 2024, we organized a first-time, freely accessible central countdown moment at the Jaarbeursplein with a program for
